I'm always getting asked what gear I use. So on these pages I attempt to answer some of the more common queries and I also have a chance to share with you some of my favourites. At this point I wish to point out these are my personal opinions and I've not been paid to say these words, some of you may find you disagree with me or may in fact find that some items are simply not suited to you as they are to me, after all a lot of the decisions we make boil down to personal preference.
I will however try and answer those frequently asked questions about the kit as honestly as I possibly can; read this as a kind of tested to destruction equipment review. I take great pride in trying to not let kit become the focus of my life, good stuff just is, it exists quietly in a kind of satisfying stasis with your life. It only becomes noticeable when it leaks, snaps or falls to pieces on you (at which point it fails to remain an old mate and it gets junked) and I look for equipment that does its job nice and simple and with time and fail free use becomes a stalwart old friend.
At the same time I really do give my gear a hard time in all manner of environments and stuff that survives gets mentioned on these pages; a tribute or a hall of fame if you will to all those items that continue to provide a good service and over the years have deemed them selves "Nick Baker proof"!
