Inspired by The new amateur naturalist and the Bug book, I checked out the contents of my gardens leaf litter. There were over a thousand springtails and well over a hundred woodlice, but also earwigs, sml tegenarias, amaurobius, linyphia, Xysticus cristatus, harvestmen, polydemus millipedes, slugs, snails, and what looks to be sand hoppers.
this pic shows a good selection
This was my best find, a Green lacewing
unfortunately no pseudoscorpions or ground beetles. |

Lacewings is really nice but I'm very much in love with the hairy snail.

I've never seen a hairy snail. and I love looking for snails in my locality.
I don't think we have them here in Wales?
