This is your chance to get a pre-publication order of this new book. I'm very proud of this my first collaboration with DK books. Aimed at the younger budding (bugging) entomologist. It is a guide to keeping and learning from those little creatures we so often take for granted in our own gardens - the mini-beasts!
This is the abridged version on the full book - it has the same excellent illustrations by Richard Lewington just with less of Waring and Townsends words. Its size, the water resistant cover and ring bound pages make is a much handier book for field work - especially with groups or when working through the contents of a moth trap. I use mine all the time (referring back to its big brother when the going gets tough or I want more detailed descriptions)The essential moth text book.
Another classic from British Wildlife Publishers. Illustrated and written by Richard Lewington - who is not only one of the worlds top insect artists but also a butterfly brain too (He will kill me for saying that). This is probably the best book out there on these insects in the region and what's more this is a pocket guide that actually fits in the pocket!!
This is an truly excellent and highly recommended field guide for anyone with a garden or the slightest bit of interest in the wildlife that shares their patch - I've got a copy on my shelf!
This is a month by month guide or almanac to the best that British Wildlife has to offer throughout the seasons. It's a what, where, when book. The idea is that no matter what season you will have something to look out for.

The First Time Naturalist is the paperback version of the above 'New Amateur Naturalist' the only difference is that it's floppier and has a different picture on the front! I know it's confusing but hopefully you are clear on the matter now!

I know I shouldn't have favourites but this one is probably mine! It's a great introduction to the world of invertebrates (that's mini-beasts or creepy crawlies to many) I aimed to include lots of interesting little nuggets of information about the subjects and peppered throughout the text are loads of simple practical ideas to develop a greater understanding of their often hidden and misunderstood lives.
